Couples tune-up sessions

Sometimes you just need a reset, not a renovation.

You love each other. You're committed. But somewhere along the way, you've started missing each other—talking past one another, misreading signals, or just feeling like you're running on different tracks. Maybe parenting has taken over. Maybe neurodivergence (yours, your partner's, your kids') has added layers of complexity you weren't expecting. Maybe you're just exhausted and need someone to help you find your way back to each other.

That's where couples tune-up sessions comes in.

What are Couples tune-up Sessions?

These are ongoing single-session therapy appointments designed to get you both back on the same page or at least reading from the same book. They're not intended to be long-term therapy. They're not crisis intervention. They're practical, targeted sessions to help you figure out how to communicate in a way that actually works for you both.

Think of it like taking your car in for a service. You're not rebuilding the engine, you're just making sure everything's running smoothly again.

Who Are These Sessions For?

Couples tune-ups work best if:

  • You're fundamentally solid but feeling disconnected or stuck in unhelpful patterns

  • You need guidance on how to communicate across different neurotypes (one or both partners autistic, ADHD, or otherwise neurodivergent)

  • Parenting neurodivergent kids has left you with no energy for each other

  • You keep having the same argument and can't figure out why

  • You want practical tools, not months of therapy

  • You're not ready (or not able right now) to commit to a longer program like NeuroHarmony

  • You just need someone neutral to help you see what's actually going on and what to do about it

  •

This isn't for couples in crisis, dealing with abuse, or on the verge of separation. If that's where you're at, let's chat about whether a different approach might serve you better.

What Happens in a Session?

We get straight to it. No fluff, no endless backstory (unless it's relevant). We'll look at:

  • What's not working right now and why it keeps happening

  • How you're each wired especially if neurodivergence is part of the picture. Autistic/ADHD/neurotypical brains communicate differently, and that's not anyone's fault it just needs translating

  • Practical strategies you can actually use to reconnect, de-escalate conflicts, and stop talking past each other

  • What you each need to feel seen, heard, and valued and how to ask for it in a way your partner can actually receive

You'll leave with concrete things to try, not vague advice about "communicating better."

Why Single Sessions?

Not every couple needs months of therapy. Sometimes you just need:

  • A fresh perspective from someone who gets neurodivergent relationships

  • Permission to do things differently than "normal" couples

  • A circuit-breaker for a pattern you're stuck in

  • Practical tools you can start using immediately

Single sessions also work if you're testing the waters, seeing whether couples therapy feels right before committing to something bigger. And if you find it helpful, you can always book another tune-up down the track when you need it.

What If We Need More?

If it becomes clear during our session that you'd benefit from deeper work, I'll let you know. You might be a good fit for my NeuroHarmony program, a structured 8-module + 4 additional sessions, program designed specifically for autistic and ADHD partnerships. Or we can explore other options that suit where you're at.

But there's no pressure. Tune-up sessions are what they say on the tin, quick, focused, and designed to get you moving again.

What About Parenting Stress?

If parenting neurodivergent kids is part of what's straining your relationship, we can absolutely talk about that. Often, couples get so consumed by their kids' needs that they forget they're a team, or they start blaming each other when things feel hard.

We can look at:

  • How to stay connected when parenting takes all your energy

  • How to get on the same page with parenting approaches

  • How to stop the "one of us is too soft, one of us is too hard" dynamic

  • How to protect your relationship while still being present for your kids

Parenting neurodivergent kids is no joke. But you don't have to lose yourselves, or each other in the process.

The Vibe

This is a non-judgy, down-to-earth space. I'm not here to tell you what "healthy relationships" are supposed to look like according to some outdated manual. I'm here to help you figure out what works for your relationship, with your specific brains, your specific lives, and your specific challenges.

I'm neurodivergent myself and continue to parent 2 neurodivergent young adults. I get it. I also specialise in trauma and domestic abuse, so I know relationships can be complex. But if you're both showing up in good faith and want to make things better, we can work with that.
